Bruna Della Manna

sharing life stories

My mom’s name is Angelina and she was born in 1963, in the United States, but she came to Brazil when she was only three years old. She is a business administrator and she is very friendly and sometimes funny . She lived in a big house here in São Paulo before I was born, but she usually went to her farm on Piracaia on weekends.
One day, my mom was going to her farm by car. The day was beautiful and she was enjoying the trip, singing and looking at the landscape. Her dogs, Gypsy and Cowboy, were with her. Gypsy was in the backseat and Cowboy was in the back of the truck. Gypsy enjoyed travelling with the head out of the window feeling the wind in her face.
When my mom finally arrived at the farm, she realized that Gypsy wasn’t there, she had jumped out of the window while my mom was driving and looking at the trees and birds in the landscape. She got desperate! She announced on the local radio that a little dog had disappeared and that she would give some money to the person who found her. My mom also drove all around the area asking all the people that she saw if they had seen Gypsy.
Next day, when she was almost losing her hope, a little boy came to tell her that they had found a little dog under an abandoned car, but she was really mad and she didn’t let anyone to get near her. When my mom arrived and called “Gypsy!”, the little dog came running to her and jumped on her leg crying and barking at the same time.
Then they went home and the story had a happy ending.
